July 19, 2013 – 8:00 PM

As fire departments all over the county were responding to heavy storm related incidents, the Brockport Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 134 Park Avenue. 2C33 was quickly on scene and seeing fire on the A / B second story exterior, declared a working fire. Engine 234 responded and one line was stretched and the exterior fire was knocked down. A second line was stretched to the interior and some hot spots were quickly extinguished after the one room on the A /b corner was opened-up. Ladder 231 raised its stick to the roof which was opened to check for possible extension. Brockport’s 2325 and Rescue 238 were also on scene. An engine from Spencerport, two engines from Hamlin and one engine from Hilton also arrived on scene with the second engine from Hamlin turned around to respond to a reported structure fire in Hilton. Companies filling-in included a Spencerport ladder and engines from Holley, Morton and Walker. The cause of the fire was being investigated but was thought to have been caused by a lightning strike.
